Google Fact. The BBC World Service has conducted an annual global opinion poll since 2005. In 2008 it interviewed over 17,000 individuals across 34 countries including Israel. Iran was the most negatively viewed country globally with a 54% negative rating. It was followed by Israel with a 52% negative rating. This poll was conducted prior to recent events in Gaza. Israel needs to change course on its treatment of Palestinians if it is to change world opinion.

Indeed, there is no such a thing like a Palestinian people, or a Palestinian culture, or a Palestinian language, or a Palestinian history. There has never been any Palestinian state, neither any Palestinian archaeological find nor coinage. The present-day Palestinians are an Arab people, with Arab culture, Arabic language and Arab history. They have their own Arab states from where they came into the Land of Israel about one century ago to contrast the Jewish immigration.

By 1948, the Arabs had still not yet discovered their ancient nation of Falastin. When they were offered half of Palestine west of the Jordan River for a state, the offer was violently rejected. Six Arab states launched a war of annihilation against the nascent State of Israel. Their purpose was not to establish an independent Falastin.
